Place Trench Along a Pathway

Ribbon: OpenRail Modeling > Rail > Miscellaneous > LV Assets

Placing a Trench along a Pathway will utilize a defined Topology Route. A Topology Route (Pathway) is a collection of Topology Edges, which forms a Route (Pathway).

By placing a Trench along a route, will provide possibilities to layout out the Trench along several geometries, for example, starting the Trench along the main track, continue through a turnout and end the trench along a siding track.

To access the Pathways (Routes), place the cursor on top of a geometry, the popup-message will show type of element and other properties. In the picture below, the Trench will be placed along the geometry Main Track.

Right click, when the popup-message is shown, and the Place Trench tool will pick first Pathway (Route) available. Continue right-click to circulate through the Pathways (Routes). If no Pathway (Route) exists, the geometry is the only one shown in the popup-message.

Workflow

  1. Select the Place Trench tool
  2. Place the cursor on top of a geometry
  3. Right click until desired Pathway (Route) is shown in the popup-message
  4. Accept Pathway (Route) by a left click
  5. From this point onwards, the workflow is same as Placing a Trench along a geometry

Elevation (apart from selecting Elevation Mode: Absolute or Relative to Active Terrain Model) will be relative the individual geometries included in the Pathway (Route).
